Staffmark in Fremont, CA is hiring a Seasonal Non-CDL Yard Hostler. Pay rate $27.00 per hour, with a 4am start time. This role focuses on safely moving trailers and supporting yard operations.

You will operate a yard hostler to move trailers, position them at doors and staging areas, couple/uncouple, perform basic inspections, follow safety procedures, and communicate with dispatch. A minimum of 6 months’ verifiable yard hostler experience and a non-CDL driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of verifiable yard hostler/yard jockey experience.
• Experience operating yard hostler or Ottawa-style yard truck.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL not required).
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with trailer staging and air line connections.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a yard hostler to move trailers.
• Position trailers at docks, staging areas, and parking spaces.
• Couple/uncouple trailers and connect/disconnect air lines.
• Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain an organized, safe work environment.
• Communicate with dispatch about trailer movements.
