Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a seasonal Non-CDL Yard Hostler in Bakersfield, CA. The role involves moving trailers with a yard goat, coupling/uncoupling, and following dispatch instructions to keep operations efficient. Early morning start times with some Saturday work and guaranteed hours are offered.

The position requires at least 6 months of yard hostling or related trailer movement experience, a valid driver’s license, and strict adherence to safety procedures. CDL is not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months verifiable yard hostling or related trailer-mmovement experience.
• Experience moving and positioning trailers in warehouse/logistics settings.
• Must safely operate yard hostling equipment and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard goat to move trailers within the yard facility.
• Transport trailers between dock doors, staging areas and parking locations.
• Safely couple and uncouple trailers as needed.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Follow dispatch instructions and yard procedures.
• Communicate with operations and yard staff.
• Keep trailer yard organized, safe and efficient.
• Complete 10–15 trailer moves per shift in a low-volume yard.
