Staffmark is hiring a Non-CDL Yard Hostler in Bakersfield, CA. The role involves safe operation of yard hostling equipment, moving trailers, coupling/uncoupling, and performing pre-trip inspections. Early morning starts and occasional weekend work are required.

The position emphasizes safety, timely trailer movements, and adherence to yard rules in a fast-paced logistics environment with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of verifiable Yard Hostler, Yard Jockey, Yard Goat, or Terminal Tractor experience within the past 3 years.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to operate yard hostling equipment safely.
• Experience moving and positioning trailers in warehouse/logistics environments.
• Willingness to work early morning start schedule and seasonal assignments.

Responsabilités

• Operate a yard goat to move trailers within the yard facility.
• Transport trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and designated parking locations.
• Safely couple and uncouple trailers as needed.
• Perform pre-trip equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Follow dispatch instructions, yard traffic patterns and procedures.
• Maintain an organized, safe trailer yard and communicate with operations.
