Job summary

6 Degrees Search seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our nocturnist team in Dothan, Alabama. The selected candidate will provide overnight care to hospitalized adults and collaborate closely with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Night shift schedule runs 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM with autonomous practice within a physician-led team. Board-certified candidates with inpatient/ICU experience are preferred, and a strong emphasis on documentation and

Qualifications

• Must hold NP or PA license and be board-certified.
• Experience in inpatient, hospitalist, critical care, emergency medicine, or acute care preferred.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within a physician-led team.

Responsibilities

• Perform 12-hour night shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Deliver comprehensive hospital-based care to adult patients.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
• Manage admissions, conduct daily rounds, and cross-coverage duties.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging results.
• Adjust medications and treatments as required for patient care.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions overnight.
• Work collaboratively with doctors and hospital leadership to improve patient care quality.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation and communication of patient activities.
