Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our nocturnist team in Dothan, Alabama.

The selected candidate will provide overnight care to hospitalized adults, collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities include 12-hour night shifts, admissions management, rounds, and cross-coverage while maintaining accurate documentation and communication.

Qualifications

• Active NP or PA license.
• Board certification required.
• Inpatient/hospitalist/ICU or acute care experience preferred.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within a physician-led team.

Responsibilities

• Perform 12-hour night shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Deliver hospital-based care to adult patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Manage admissions, daily rounds, and cross-coverage duties.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, labs and imaging results.
• Adjust medications and treatments as required for patient care.
• Respond to changes in patient conditions overnight.
• Collaborate with doctors and hospital leadership to improve patient care quality.
• Ensure timely documentation and communication of patient activities.
