Job summary

Key People in Dothan, Alabama seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our nocturnist team. You will provide overnight care to hospitalized adults, collaborating with physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires an NP or PA license with board certification, inpatient/acute care experience preferred, and strong clinical judgment. Night shift duties and a role that supports top-of-licence practice are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
• Board certification is mandatory.
• Preferred inpatient, hospitalist, critical care, emergency medicine, or acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform 12-hour night shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Deliver hospital-based care to adult patients.
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Manage admissions, rounds, and cross-coverage duties.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics and imaging results.
• Adjust medications as needed for patient care.
• Respond to overnight changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with doctors and leadership to improve care quality.
• Ensure timely documentation and communication of patient activities.
