Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a NOC Technician to join our team in a fast-paced Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. This is a customer-facing role within a NOC call center setting, requiring strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in network monitoring and IT service management. This is a 6 month contract with the potential to convert to full time employment.

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $27 - 31 per hour
Work Hours: Rotating Shifts
Education: Bachelors

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage enterprise networks, servers, and systems using industry-standard tools.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address incidents and service requests.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, resolutions, and network performance metrics.
  • Provide excellent customer service while handling technical support inquiries.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a NOC or enterprise Service Desk environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Windows Server (2016 and later).
    • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as:
      • OpenText Operations Bridge Manager (OBM)
      • Network Node Manager (NNMi)
      • Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
      • Other relevant network/system monitoring tools
    • Experience with OpenText SMAX or similar IT service management platforms.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred (a plus):
  • Familiarity with VMware, network circuits, Windows Server administration, helpdesk support, and backup systems.
