Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Network Specialist I to monitor the Network Operations Center and respond to alarms using established procedures. You will troubleshoot, isolate faults, and coordinate with other departments to resolve issues across the network.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred) and prior Tier 2/BTSC experience. Flex hours, 7x24 support, and a hybrid schedule are offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 6 months experience in Mediacom Tier 2 or BTSC, or equivalent.
• Experience with data networks and telecom infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Cisco Technologies, DWDM and SONET.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and monitor activity throughout the network.
• Isolate and diagnose faults and escalate to higher levels of support as needed.
• Interact with departments to address issues identified within the network.
• Adhere to company and department policy to ensure prompt resolution of problems.
• Additional duties as assigned.
