Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Network Specialist I to monitor the Network Operations Center and respond to alarms and events according to defined procedures.

You will troubleshoot, diagnose faults, and collaborate with other teams to ensure prompt resolution. The role requires the ability to work in a team, handle stress, and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree in Networking or IT preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months within Mediacom Tier 2 or BTSC, or equivalent Cable TV/Broadband/Telecommunications experience required.
• Applied knowledge of data networks and/or telecommunication infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Cisco Technologies.
• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends; 7x24x365 support environment a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Good decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under stress.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Overview

Responsible for monitoring the Network Operations Center (NOC) and reacting to alarms/events generated within an infrastructure monitoring platform based on corresponding procedures.
