Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute in Bakersfield, CA seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a full-time role to provide routine daily nursing care to residents as outlined in their care plans and supervised by our Nurse Supervisors.

You will assist with personal care, mobility, meal support, and observation, maintain confidentiality, document care accurately, and respond promptly to call lights. CPR certification preferred; pay range $18.00-$20.00 hourly, DOE.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a 10th grade education.
• Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state laws.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Identify residents before providing care or treatments using wristbands or photo cards.
• Report all changes in resident condition, incidents, or accidents promptly.
• Record resident care, observations, and activities accurately on charts and flow sheets.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including PHI.
• Assist residents with daily personal care needs including bathing, grooming, dressing, dental care, and toileting.
• Ensure call lights are answered promptly and residents who cannot call for help are checked frequently.
• Assist with resident mobility including lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting.
• Provide restorative and rehabilitative care as instructed.
• Maintain clean and organized resident rooms, ensuring comfort and dignity.
• Observe and report signs of pressure injuries or skin breakdowns immediately.
• Assist with meal service and recording intake.
• Follow all infection control and safety procedures.
• Support residents emotionally and create a warm, friendly, and calm environment.
• Report all allegations of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resident property immediately.
• Uphold residents' rights, including the right to refuse treatment.
