Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead a unit in collaboration with the Director of Nursing. The role directs nursing and patient care delivery, ensuring holistic, culturally competent, safe, and cost-effective evidence-based care for patients and families.

Requires 1–2 years of progressive nursing care experience with leadership, and an RN license in Maryland or DC, with a focus on quality, safety, and adherence to regulatory standards within a Magnet/Pathways

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing from an accredited program required.
• Master's degree in Nursing or health-related field preferred.
• RN license in Maryland or DC required upon hire (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for a unit/department on a 24/7 basis.
• Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to meet quality and safety goals.
• Develops and monitors standards of care, staffing, and performance.
• Supports regulatory compliance and organizational policies across units.
