Job summary

First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot is seeking a NVQ/SVQ Level 3 qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for night shifts. You will diagnose faults, repair, service, and maintain vehicles to high standards, including road tests where needed.

A joining bonus of £2,000 is on offer, with further pay increases planned for April 2027. Qualified candidates should have HGV or PSV experience, a valid UK driving licence, and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience working on HGV or PSV is desirable.
• Valid UK driving licence is required.
• Attention to detail with a passion for mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs and replacements as needed.
• Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and recoveries as required.
• Road test vehicles and ensure accurate health and safety documentation.
