First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot is seeking an SVQ/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Automotive Electrician to join a busy team. Two shift patterns are available—days or nights—at our Glasgow Caledonia Depot.

A background in automotive electrical work is essential, with opportunities for ex-forces personnel with engineering background. The role includes diagnosing faults and performing repairs to keep vehicles safe and reliable.

Formación

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance with focus on electrics.
• Experience working on HGV or PSV is beneficial.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose electrical faults in vehicles and perform repairs and part replacements.
• Carry out electrical testing, installations, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure documentation complies with regulations and health and safety standards.

Automotive Electrician

Caledonia Depot, 100 Cathcart Road, G42 7BH

We are now looking for an SVQ/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Automotive Electrician to join the busy team at our First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot. We have two shift patterns available - days or nights! We would love to hear from qualified candidates with great automotive electrical knowledge and any ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other automotive sectors looking for a change.

Dayshift

• £21.54 per hour
• Minimum 37 hours per week
• £ 41,442 per annum
• 5 days over 7 (including 1 weekend in 3)
• 6am-2pm
• £2,000 joining bonus!

Further pay increase scheduled for April 2027

In this hands‑on role, you’ll keep vehicles running safely and reliably by diagnosing electrical faults, completing repairs and replacing parts when needed. You’ll carry out scheduled electrical testing and any installations, routine inspections andpreventative maintenance. You’ll also make sure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health and safety standards.

What We’re Looking For

• A Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair with a focus on electrics
• Experience working on HGV or PSV would be beneficial
• A valid UK driving licence
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for mechanics
