Job summary

S J Bargh Ltd is seeking a skilled HGV technician to join our Scania franchise workshop. You will deliver high-quality inspections, servicing and repairs across Scania and mixed-fleet vehicles, maintaining precise records and adhering to DVSA standards.

With strong diagnostic capability and experience in digital maintenance systems, you will work in a busy workshop environment, collaborating with the team to ensure safety, uptime and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to diagnose complex faults across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Experience using digital maintenance systems (R2C or equivalent).
• Understanding of DVSA inspection standards, brake testing, and roadworthiness requirements.
• Strong HGV technical background and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform full vehicle and trailer safety inspections, servicing, and repairs to DVSA standards.
• Deep diagnostics using Scania systems, OEM tooling, and electronic test equipment.
• Maintain ancillaries and body systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, refrigeration, and electricals.
• Support maintenance on mobile and fixed plant within the Operations team.
• Keep audit-ready maintenance records in line with regulations and company policy.
• Manage work through the R2C fleet maintenance platform with real-time updates.
• Communicate downtime, repair progress and completion to Workshop Supervisor and Service Manager.
• Assist the parts team with technical parts identification and ordering.
