Job summary

Arriva UK Bus is seeking a Skilled Shift Engineer to join the Norwood Garage. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on buses and related equipment to keep fleets safe and reliable for passengers.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, plus experience as PSV Engineer, HGV Technician, Bus Mechanic, or related roles. A UK driving licence is preferred and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience in a workshop or fleet environment.
• Reading engineering drawings, schematics and technical docs.
• Commitment to health and safety procedures in engineering and transport environments.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on buses, PSVs, vehicles and engineering equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools.
• Complete repairs, modifications and upgrades to DVSA and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection reports.
• Provide technical support to junior engineers and apprentices.
