Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center in the United States is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care operations in Med Surg. You will assist with daily activities, document data, and collaborate with registered nurses to ensure patient safety and comfort.

This full-time role requires 40 hours per week, evening/night shifts (2300-0730) with rotating weekends and holidays, and a pay range of $20.80 to $31.20 per hour. Training includes BLS and nurse aide certification updates as needed.

Qualifications

• GED or HS Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, feeding, ambulation).
• Record vital signs and I&O in EMR; document accurately.
• Perform purposeful rounds and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Run errands and stock nursing area; clean equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers and diet support.
• Support skin integrity and patient safety; manage equipment as needed.
• Follow infection prevention policies and age-appropriate care.
