Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Proficient with basic tools and equipment used in yard operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to and from yard doors and between yard areas.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follow yard switching safety procedures.
• Load and unload packages from vehicles, trailers, and conveyors.
• Sort packages by scanning, reading labels and charts, and memorizing information.
