Job summary

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• No experience required; six months preferred as a package handler or switching/CDL operator.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and DOT file.
• Ability to understand instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to sort packages by numbers and labels.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard, doors, and yard switches.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Handle packages using hand-to-surface methods and load/unload as required.
• Sort packages by conveyor, read labels, and memorize necessary information.
• Adhere to safety practices and perform other duties as assigned.
