Job summary

FedEx Corporation is seeking a Full Time overnight package handler for the Midnight/Sunrise sort. You will move trailers between yard and doors, assist with loading/unloading, and document trailer moves while maintaining safety.

This role requires basic dexterity, accuracy in sorting, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Overnight shifts are typical, with duties that include using yard equipment, scanning packages, and coordinating with central control.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as hand-held scanners, dock carts, chutes and unloading devices.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers between yard and load/unload doors (hooking/switching).
• Coordinates trailer movements with management or central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follows yard switching safety procedures.
• Loads and unloads packages onto delivery vehicles, trailers, conveyors, carts or gratings.
