Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Part-time Preload/ Early Morning Shift candidate to move trailers, handle packages, and assist in yard operations. The role involves lifting, sorting, and using scanning equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Requires a valid driver’s license with a DOT file, ability to follow instructions, and reliable teamwork. Prior switcher or CDL-related experience is a plus, but not mandatory, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Six months of package handler or switching/CDL operator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers between yard and doors and between yard and load/unload areas.
• Communicates with management to coordinate trailer movements in the yard.
• Records trailer moves using yard management system or switcher cards.
• Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follows yard safety processes and procedures while performing tasks.
• Loads and unloads packages by hand and sorts packages as needed.
• Loads packages onto delivery vehicles and conveyors, using appropriate equipment.
