Job summary

Elbit Systems of America, LLC in Roanoke, VA seeks a hands-on Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to support manufacturing of night vision systems. You will assist in daily operations, optimize processes, and pursue cost reductions while reviewing and dispositioning night vision components.

The role requires experience with hand/machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and Six Sigma/Lean approaches. Security clearance eligibility and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-year associate's degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or equivalent relatable experience is required
• 2+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Capable of performing process engineering tasks proportionate to their experience
• PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Must have the ability to work effectively within a team
• Ability to support the organizational culture and build morale
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
• Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies, and Procedures
• Ability to work 3rd shift

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing processes
• Optimize manufacturing processes and implement cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity, waste elimination)
• Review and disposition night vision systems and components
• Engage directly with factory teams on the shop floor for the majority of time (>70%)
• Perform other duties as assigned
