Job summary

Twenty-Six Defense, based in Roanoke, VA, seeks a hands-on engineering technician to support daily operations and maintain night vision image intensifier production. You will interact with equipment and operators, build/repair tooling, and dispose of nonconforming product.

The role emphasizes Lean/Six Sigma process improvement, safe practices, and teamwork within a manufacturing environment. A strong problem-solving mindset and ability to read procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• PC proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience training others.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance.
• Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and company policies.
• Able to work an off-shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing equipment for night vision image intensifier production.
• Spend >80% time interfacing with equipment and operators, building/repairing tooling, and dispositioning nonconforming product.
• Optimize manufacturing processes and implement cost reduction opportunities.
• Train production employees to improve work processes and product quality.
