Job summary

The SYGMA Network is seeking a Transportation Supervisor for the night shift to support the Transportation Manager in supervising delivery and backhaul activities. You will train staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote safety in the department.

Responsibilities include enforcing SOPs, conducting training, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating with Warehouse/Customer Service to resolve delivery issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2–4 years transportation experience or equivalent training.
• Two to four year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar (preferred).
• CDL Class A preferred but not required.
• Certificate of DOT regulations training preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT rules; proficient with spreadsheets and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of Transportation Associates, ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety standards.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, etc.) and maintains accurate electronic logs.
• Manages labor hours and supplies within budget; schedules shifts as needed.
• Assists with training and cross-training of associates.
• Oversees asset utilization and coordinates repairs with other departments.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity data; suggests efficiency and cost-reduction measures.
• Enforces company policies and procedures, including food safety, DOT, and record-keeping.
• Communicates with Warehouse and Customer Service to resolve issues; visits customer locations as needed.
• Maintains associate relations via pre-shift/dept meetings; supports engagement and morale.
