Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. in Locust Grove, GA is seeking a Fleet Manager responsible for building driver relationships, optimizing loads, and coordinating across multiple departments.

You will work with dedicated managers to meet driver needs, maintain a full driver board, and ensure timely attendance on shift. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing/Logistics or 2–3 years of fleet management experience, with supervisory exposure and strong organizational and computer-terminal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics preferred.
• Six months to one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, proven management ability, and skill in operating a computer terminal and satellite communications system required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships through understanding and meeting driver needs, including home time, payroll, utility, and equipment issues.
• Partner with the Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, freight type, miles, stops, and driver needs.
• Understand and adhere to customer dynamics, service expectations, goals and initiatives to improve value for the Customer and Werner.
• Interface with departments such as billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance, and external vendors.
• Work with the Dedicated Logistics Manager and/or Operations Manager to fill and maintain a full board of drivers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dedicated Logistics Manager.
• Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.
