Job summary

Emerus in Texas is seeking a Night Shift RN for a PRN role in a small-format hospital. You will assess, plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in telemetry/ICU settings, handling high-acuity cases with cardiac and respiratory needs.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of tele/ICU experience, active RN licensure, and ACLS/BLS. This role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety standards, and flexible scheduling to support critical care patients.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for higher-acuity inpatient patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Demonstrated competency managing cardiac, hypertensive, and insulin infusions, plus rhythm interpretation.
• Experience supporting patients requiring advanced respiratory therapies, including BiPAP and high-flow oxygen.
• Excellent collaboration and communication with interdisciplinary teams and telemedicine platforms.
• Comfort caring for critically ill patients and supporting short-term stabilization and transfers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, and provide age-appropriate nursing care applying advanced clinical knowledge.
• Follow physician orders in delivery of nursing care.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Adhere to infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Collect labs and perform testing per policies and CLIA/COLA.
• Handle admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures.
• Adhere to state Board of Nursing standards and hospital policies.
