Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with current BLS certification.
• Must be registered with the State Regulatory Agency where applicable.
• Graduation from a certified surgical technology program or two years of OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs and passes instruments.
• Maintains aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures.
• Disposes of sharps/trash and ensures correct instrument counts.
• Assists with OR turnover and stocking of supplies.
• Provides potential administrative support to the department as needed.
• Participates in training and orientation of staff and students.
