Safeway in Homer, AK seeks a Person In Charge (PIC) to lead the store in the absence of the Store Manager, overseeing staff, ensuring outstanding customer service, and making key operational decisions to maximize profit and efficiency.

As PIC you may work across departments, assist cashiers, and handle emergencies while maintaining a safe and friendly shopping environment for customers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service as defined by the employer within policy.

• Restock displays around the checkout area.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist cashiers with computer, register, and scanner issues.
• Perform basic office functions to assist customers and personnel.
• Operate cash register and process payments.
• Accept payments and give correct change.
• Bag groceries and assist customers with carry out.
• Close of day responsibilities may be required.
• Count tills when others leave.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
