Job summary

Geisinger in Scranton, PA is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician for the night shift (10:30pm–7:00am). You will clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment, ensuring sterility and compliance with regulatory standards.

• CRCST certification required within 18 months of hire; training provided to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, store and distribute reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Collect used and contaminated equipment for sorting and decontamination.
• Manually clean supplies, remove waste, operate and maintain decontamination equipment.
• Prepare and pack decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
• Monitor and operate sterilization equipment.
• Serve as a preceptor for new employees.
• Inspect supplies to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation.
• Test and report issues with sterilization equipment.
