Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CRCST certification required within 18 months of hire or must meet state grandfathering guidelines.
• Training provided to obtain required certification.
• Existing CRCST certification is valued if already obtained.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, store and distribute reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment while ensuring sterility.
• Collect used equipment for sorting and decontamination.
• Manually clean supplies and operate decontamination equipment.
• Prepare and pack decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
• Monitor and operate sterilization equipment.
• Act as a preceptor for new employees.
• Maintain records of sterilization procedures and inventory and equipment maintenance.
• Manage inventory and check expiration dates.
