Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the surgical and invasive care teams. This role involves cleaning, sterilizing, and distributing medical instruments, and preparing instrument trays for the OR, L&D, and related areas.

The position requires prior sterile processing experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and certification (CRCST/CBSPD) within six months of employment. The shift is 2nd shift with a 40-hour workweek at Mount Holly, NJ facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/CBSPD certification required within 6 months of employment; CER preferred.
• Previous sterile processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments, powered equipment and endoscopes for sterilization.
• Cleans, disinfects patient care equipment and instruments from various areas.
• Assists in orientation and training of new hires.
• Operates and documents results of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
• Delivers and inventories sterile equipment and supplies.
