Northwestern Medicine Sleep Lab is seeking a Sleep Lab Technologist for the Grayslake Outpatient Clinic. The role handles overnight polysomnograms and CPAP/Bi-PAP titrations, with a 36-hour work week and a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Night shifts are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 6pm–6:30am.

The candidate must be a BRPT or RRT certified Sleep Technologist with at least 12 months of sleep tech experience and a high school diploma. Registration and ongoing CEUs are required to maintain credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification by BRPT or RRT in sleep technology.
• Bachelor’s degree or additional sleep-related certification preferred.
• Experience at an AASM-accredited sleep facility preferred.

Responsabilités

• Complete required paperwork before study, including consent and patient history.
• Prepare equipment for monitoring and calibrations.
• Provide CPAP training and educate patients.
• Place EEG electrodes using the international 10-20 system.
• Record studies and document observations.
• Identify sleep disturbances and adjust technique as needed.
• Respond to medical issues, document barriers to resolution.
• Maintain equipment and participate in continuing education.
• Mentor new Sleep Technicians and students.
• Score sleep records per department guidelines.

Formation

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification by Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, RPSGT or Registered Respiratory Therapist

Bachelor’s Degree or additional training in electroneurodiagnostics, anatomy, or successful completion of certification in allied health

Prior sleep experience at a facility accredited by the AASM
