Job summary

Gulf Island in Houma, Louisiana is seeking an Assembler/Tacker (Night Shift) to support the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components, performing basic welding, fit-up and mechanical assembly to produce enclosure frames, panels and subassemblies.

You will read blueprints, use tape measures, and work with overhead cranes; safety PPE is required. 1+ year experience in welding or fabrication preferred; outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and work instructions to determine weld and assembly needs.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills for enclosure components.
• Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes for panels and subassemblies.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components following drawings and procedures.
• Perform basic mechanical assembly, fitting panels, installing hardware, and prepping components for welding.
• Read blueprints and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies to support production flow and quality.
