Gulf Island LLC in Houma, LA is seeking an Assembler/Tacker on the night shift to support the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components, focusing on welding, fit-up and mechanical assembly to produce enclosure frames, panels and subassemblies.

You will read blueprints, follow procedures, operate overhead cranes, and maintain safety and quality standards in varying outdoor conditions.

Competenze

• 1+ years experience in welding, fabrication or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment
• 1+ years experience in structural fitting
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Basic proficiency with MIG welding
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes (with proper respiratory protection)
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Must be able to pass a background check

Mansioni

• Perform structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and procedures
• Perform basic mechanical assembly including fitting panels and prepping components for welding or final assembly
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements
• Complete tasks for roofs, doors and sub-assemblies to support production flow and ensure dimensional and quality requirements
• Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging
• Conduct visual weld checks, report defects and assist with rework
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements
• Setup and teardown welding/assembly workstations
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
