Job summary

The Trinity River Authority of Texas is seeking an Operator II to maintain and monitor water treatment or raw water pumping operations. You will perform routine inspections, adjust processes, and document daily activities to ensure safe plant operation.

Required: Texas Driver’s License, C Water or Wastewater Operator Certificate, and two years of related experience. Third shift carries a $3.00 hourly differential; benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and a 401a retirement plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; sixty college credit hours preferred or equivalent technical education.
• Two years of experience in water/wastewater or raw water pumping plant.
• Texas Class C Water or Wastewater Operator Certificate required; pass Plant-specific Operator II test (OER).
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations by observation, instrumentation, and lab results and take corrective actions.
• Make process adjustments to predetermined parameters and operate/stop equipment as needed.
• Monitor mechanical equipment and coordinate repairs; perform minor preventive maintenance.
• Oversee plant flows and treatment conditions via SCADA and on-site observations.
• Collect samples, run lab tests, and maintain logs and records.
• Communicate clearly and train less experienced staff; input data as needed.
