Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District is seeking a Water Plant Operator II to oversee operation, monitoring, and maintenance of water treatment facilities. You will run SCADA-driven processes, adjust chemical dosages, and ensure regulatory compliance for water quality.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus 2 years in water treatment and a Class C Water Treatment Operator's License. Texas driver’s license required; position includes field inspections and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Must maintain knowledge of water treatment processes, compliance requirements, operations and maintenance requirements.
• Must be able to troubleshoot water treatment equipment and perform water quality tests.
• Must communicate effectively with supervisors and peers, in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Operate pumps and valves and chemical systems using SCADA; monitor alarms and adjust as needed.
• Conduct laboratory tests for chlorine, pH, turbidity, and other water quality parameters.
• Maintain operational logs and records; interpret data to ensure treatment goals.
• Assist in maintenance of chemical systems and inventories; participate in calibrations.
