Job summary

Veolia Group is seeking a Wastewater Operator to control and optimize the wastewater treatment plant systems for compliant discharge. The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, lab data analysis, and maintaining rigorous records.

Expect 12-hour night shifts, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and opportunities to contribute improvements to treatment processes and safety practices within a dynamic environmental services environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; wastewater licensing/certification preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google equivalents; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of the wastewater facility across scheduled shifts, primarily 12-hour night shifts.
• Operate and control pumps, motors, and valves to regulate water flow; collect and test samples to determine concentrations and impurities.
• Analyze lab data to identify treatment issues and implement changes to prevent non-compliance; maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with operations, facility, and Veolia management to maintain equipment and determine optimal treatment methods.
• Complete preventative maintenance and assist with minor maintenance projects, including pump repair and valve replacement.
• Compile data for daily/weekly/monthly operating reports for Veolia and facility management; may prepare EPA/state reports.
• Coordinate with Veolia purchasing and facility teams to schedule services and order supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
