Actus Nutrition in Norfolk, NE is seeking a Wastewater Operator to operate and maintain our wastewater treatment systems during the night shift (6 PM–6 AM) with every other weekend off. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance and optimal process performance in a dairy processing environment.

The ideal candidate has proven experience with wastewater systems, understands dairy-related regulations, and can work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in operating and maintaining wastewater treatment systems.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to dairy processing.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication with plant personnel, contractors, and regulators.
• Capability to stand, climb, and walk during shift and lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliant operation.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, tanks, pumps, and other components.
• Perform routine maintenance like cleaning filters, replacing membranes, and calibrating instruments.
• Collect samples and perform laboratory analysis to monitor wastewater quality and compliance.
• Adjust chemical dosages and treatment processes to optimize performance.
• Document data and maintenance activities for regulatory compliance.
• Respond promptly to alarms and plant issues to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with plant personnel and contractors for maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain accurate records per regulatory and company requirements.
• Participate in training to stay current on wastewater technologies.
