Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant for the night shift (three 12-hour shifts per week) from 7:00pm to 7:00am. The role combines direct patient care with unit clerical duties in a busy hospital setting.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/BLS certification, and completion of the IU Health PCA education program. Prior acute care experience or completion of the IU Health PCA program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/BLS certification may be required.
• Completion of IU Health PCA education program.
• Unit Secretary training may be required per unit.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under guidance of a Clinical Nurse.
• Assist with unit clerical duties and patient flow.
• Maintain accurate patient records and sign patients in/out.
• May schedule tests and deliveries of supplies.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention.
