Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to deliver compassionate bedside care. You will assist with meals, mobility, baths, and linen changes, while supporting the bedside RN with vital signs and monitoring. The role requires BLS and a calm, safe presence in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Maintains knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a high workload and set priorities under stress.
• Knowledge of infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks and assist with meal ordering.
• Encourage walking, assist with baths, and change linens and gowns.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts and bed/chair alarms.
• Support bedside RN in clinical tasks and patient care activities.
