Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the part-time night shift. The PCA assists with daily living activities, mobility, bathing, and linen changes, and supports the bedside RN with vital signs and safety measures to ensure patient well-being.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or attainment via IU Health PCA program.
• Knowledge appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living and mobility assistance to designated patients.
• Continuous observation including suicide prevention and reporting abnormalities to RN or charge nurse.
• Ensure patient's surroundings are clean, safe and orderly; assist with baths and linen changes.

Skills

Compassionate bedside manner

Interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work in fast-paced env

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Ability to read and perform basic math

Education

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or completed via IU Health PCA program
