Job summary

Staffmark Group in Fontana, CA is hiring a Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate daily transport operations with CDL drivers, planners, and customers to ensure safety, efficiency and on-time deliveries. The role requires strong organization and dependable performance in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The position offers an evening schedule (Sun-Thurs 9:30 pm–6 am), competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of dispatching/transportation/logistics or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of trucking operations, route planning, and delivery procedures.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements preferred.
• Experience with Samsara, Paylocity, transportation management systems, or similar software preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assign drivers, equipment, and routes based on operational needs.
• Monitor deliveries, route progress, arrivals, departures, and delays.
• Communicate with drivers throughout shifts and provide route updates.
• Respond to breakdowns, accidents, delays, and customer concerns.
• Monitor Hours of Service compliance and elevate operational issues.
• Review driver availability and assist with schedule coverage.
• Verify route paperwork, BOLs, PODs, and delivery documentation.
• Document route activity, incidents, and customer communications.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
• Complete shift handoff reports and maintain accurate records.
