Job summary

Great Dane LLC is seeking a Production Supervisor to direct trailer production activities in the Axle Department, Combo Start Line, and Sidewall line. You will ensure schedules are met and that trailers conform to engineering drawings.

The role requires leadership, safety discipline, and hands-on line management in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include staffing, supervision, safety observations, lean initiatives, and collaboration with engineering and maintenance to resolve build

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED required.
• Team Leader experience preferred.
• Graduate of Team Leader Academy or college degree.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of production techniques and safety rules.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to operate a computer and basic software (spreadsheets, word processing, email).
• Must meet physical requirements listed in the job description.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance for self and employees.
• Direct activities to meet production, quality, and safety requirements.
• Define weekly staffing plan based on production volume and prepare line for next shift; manage rework and scrap; apply Lean/5S.
• Supervise staff per company policies; hire, train, and evaluate performance.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and communicate topics to the team.
• Attend weekly reviews to align Sales Order info with BOM and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with other Supervisors and the Superintendent to keep schedule on track.
• Coordinate with Engineering to resolve build process issues impacting quality or safety.
• Communicate with Production Manager and ME/Maintenance Manager on tooling, quality, and safety.
• Manage direct reports’ timecards, vacations, and approvals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
