Job summary

Forward Air is seeking a self-motivated Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This full-time role maintains all aspects of vehicles, trailers, and equipment while adhering to DOT regulations and Forward Air policies to ensure safety and reliable service.

Responsibilities include evaluating equipment status, performing minor trailer repairs, tire work, and inspections; maintaining tools and the shop; and entering repairs in maintenance software.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Experience with truck, trailer, or vehicle repair is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and take safety seriously.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment and trailers.
• Maintain equipment according to DOT regulations.
• Perform minor trailer repairs, tire mounting/dismounting, and cosmetic repairs.
• Conduct inspections to determine cost-effective maintenance or replacement.
• Keep shop and tools clean and organized; data entry in maintenance software.
