Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team as a full-time member. You will ensure trailers and equipment meet safety standards while delivering dependable service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing trailers, performing tire work, maintaining tools and work areas, and entering repairs into our maintenance software. A valid license and proactive teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Prior experience with truck/trailer/vehicle repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional image in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive teamwork and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment and trailers.
• Maintain equipment in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Perform minor trailer repairs.
• Mount/dismount tires and perform related repairs.
• Conduct inspections to determine maintenance, repair, or replacement needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and tools.
• Operate diagnostic instruments and a range of hand, electric, and air tools.
• Perform data entry in maintenance software to track repairs.
• Assist with other shop duties as assigned.
