Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a dedicated Trailer Mechanic to maintain all aspects of vehicles, trailers, and related mechanical equipment. This full-time role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate a range of diagnostic tools.

The position involves performing repairs, tire work, cosmetic updates, and routine inspections while adhering to DOT regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Prior experience with truck, trailer, and/or vehicle repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment, and trailers.
• Maintain equipment according to DOT regulations.
• Perform minor trailer repairs.
• Perform tire mounting/dismounting and repairs.
• Perform minor cosmetic repairs.
• Conduct various analyses and inspections of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical systems to determine cost-effective maintenance, repair, or replacement.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Maintain work area, tools, and equipment.
• Operate diagnostic instruments and various hand, electric, and air-driven tools.
• Perform minor building and facility maintenance.
• Perform data entry in Maintenance Software to track repairs.
• Keep shop and company tools clean and in good working order.
