Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Trailer Mechanic to join the maintenance team. This full-time role involves maintaining trailers and other mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and Forward Air policies, and delivering high levels of customer service.

You will evaluate equipment, perform repairs, and keep accurate maintenance records while working a flexible schedule. A valid driver’s license and strong mechanical aptitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Prior experience with truck, trailer, and/or vehicle repair is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are expected.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment and trailers.
• Maintain equipment according to DOT regulations.
• Perform minor trailer repairs.
• Perform tire mounting/dismounting and repairs.
• Conduct analyses and inspections to identify cost-effective maintenance options.
• Maintain attendance and a clean work area.
• Enter data in Maintenance Software to track repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.
