Job summary

Farmers Union Industries, LLC, is a Minnesota-based agricultural processing company hiring an Operator (Plant #26) for the 3rd shift. Starting wage is $27.13 per hour with a $1/hour night differential and a $2/hour weekend differential, plus regular pay increases.

You will monitor processing equipment, read gauges, adjust valves, operate bobcats and forklifts, and complete required paperwork. Safety, SOP compliance, and teamwork are essential; forklift certification is preferred and flexibility

Qualifications

• Experience in food/feed production is a plus.
• Willingness to work extra hours during the week or weekend.
• Must be 18 years or older for insurance purposes.
• Able to read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions and operator manuals.
• Forklift certification; backing up trailers or operating a skid steer and forklift is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe processing equipment via computer monitors to meet product specs.
• Read gauges to ensure proper temperature, moisture, and pressure levels.
• Manually adjust steam valves on equipment.
• Accurately complete paperwork every two hours regarding observations and product in production.
• Understand SOPs and quality standards; collect and test product samples.
• Follow lock-out tag-out procedures and escalate to Plant Maintenance.
• Operate bobcats, forklifts, and yard trucks to unload, load, and process material.
• Communicate processing activities with production personnel to prevent errors and inefficiencies.
• Clean production floors and trailers using shovels, washers, brushes, or detergents.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining production, air, and wastewater treatment equipment.
