AdventHealth Celebration, FL seeks a Surgical Technologist to anticipate surgeon needs, prep supplies, and support the operating room team. You will maintain aseptic techniques, track regulatory standards, and assist with training for new staff in a busy surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly in English and read/write effectively.
• Familiarity with aseptic/sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
• Knowledge of healthcare concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Up-to-date knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements and laws.
• Ability to understand surgeon instructions and directions.
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office familiarity.
• Strong communication, anticipation, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of anatomy and assembly of mechanical devices.
• Ability to work well with multiple team members.
• Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes.
• Organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Good grammar/spelling and reading comprehension.
• Keyboarding and basic computer skills.
• Multitasking with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates surgeon needs and informs circulating nurse during procedures.
• Maintains high standards to optimize cost savings and containment.
• Assembles supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Supports satisfaction activities; maintains strong relationships with physicians and staff.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects breaks in technique.
• Identifies environmental concerns and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Supervises staff in the surgical environment and aids training.
• Promotes a safe environment and responds to emergencies.
• Follows infection control practices and CDC guidelines.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Assists team with operating room turnover and directs ancillary personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
