Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a surgical technologist to support the operating room team in Celebration, FL. You will anticipate surgeon needs, prepare instruments, supplies, and medications, and uphold aseptic standards to ensure patient safety.

The role requires high school completion, knowledge of surgical instruments, and adherence to regulatory guidelines; an associate degree and technical training are preferred. Night shift, full-time schedule, with hospital benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Technical/Vocational training in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs the circulating nurse during procedures.
• Assembles supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Supports satisfaction activities; maintains relationships with physicians and staff; responds to complaints promptly.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects any breaks in technique.
• Identifies and reports environmental concerns; ensures regulatory compliance.
• Supervises other team members in the surgical environment and assists with orientation and training.
• Promotes a safe environment and acts during emergencies; manages hazards.
• Assists with OR turnover and directs ancillary personnel as needed.
