Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to render direct patient care under RN supervision during surgical procedures. You will anticipate needs, provide instruments and supplies, and maintain a sterile environment throughout cases, while assisting with room turnover and specimen handling.

Position requires a High School Diploma/GED, BLS certification, and completion of a surgical technologist program (preferred). Nights shift at UofL Hospital in Louisville, KY with on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program preferred.
• BLS certification required; CST preferred.
• Ability to work nights and on-site in a surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operative area and maintain sterile field.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures; count supplies.
• Receive and handle surgical specimens; assist with room turnover.
• Assist in patient transfer and maintain HIPAA compliance.
